We do the work between innovation and execution.
Too many good healthcare ideas never reach patients — not because they aren’t valuable, but because no one helped translate that value into a business that could survive real markets.
Fat Robin exists to close that gap.
We work with venture studios, investors, venture leads, innovation organizations, and founders who care deeply about getting meaningful healthcare innovation to market — and are frustrated by how often it stalls.
How we help ideas move — and keep moving
Healthcare ventures lose momentum at predictable points: before formation, during early execution, or when early signal fails to convert into traction. Fat Robin works across three distinct pillars, each designed to protect momentum at a critical inflection point.
BUILD
Selective 0 to 1 venture building to stay grounded in founder reality and open to selective co-founding for operators and technical founders (stealth mode)
VENTURE BUILDING
ACCELERATE
Driving revenue, compressing time to PMF, and building repeatable commercial systems across healthcare markets
VENTURE ACCELERATION
COMPANY CREATION
CREATE
Helping innovation organizations venture studios and investors move technology from MIP to company formation to investor readiness to scale
What this looks like in practice
Across these pillars, our work has included:
Pivoting a client from a provider-first strategy to a life sciences focus based on market signal
Building cross-functional commercial systems anchored on PMF → revenue
Designing advisory boards and partner networks that accelerated execution
Testing and refining value propositions across multiple ICPs
Building pitch decks and supporting early investor outreach and meetings
Helping teams transition from founder-led selling to scalable execution
Commercial advising
Accelerate existing momentum with expert as-needed advice in real-time. Leverage expertise in contract negotiations, pricing strategy, deal assessments, funnel bottlenecks, partner/competitor landscapes, commercial hiring, and product strategy.
Building partnerships
Build a robust framework to evaluate and execute partnerships that advance business milestones. Do more than capture logos or respond to market interest. Instead, drive high-value, mutually beneficial relationships that scale with you.
Results-driven processes
Develop and codify repeatable sales processes to understand your current state and to drive a funnel that delivers results to your constituents—your team, your investors, your partners, and, most importantly, your customers.
Solution validation
Create journey maps and stakeholder analyses based on a real-world understanding of the healthcare market – create more precision around the inflection points of value, the competitive landscape, and the best business models to drive results.

The client perspective
“Seema is a multi-dimensional coach and mentor. She is an active listener, a collaborative problem solver, and generous to share her deep network. Seema is empathetic and encouraging but mainly challenging and inspiring. Seema’s knowledge of the space is very current and relevant. Our plan is much tighter thanks to Seema’s involvement.”
Peggy Sammon, CEO of GeneCapture
Seema Sood is the founder and CEO of Fat Robin. She works hands-on with science-driven and technology-enabled organizations to translate innovation into durable, commercial businesses that can operate in real healthcare markets.
Her work sits at the intersection of venture building, venture creation, and venture acceleration. She has built ventures directly to stay grounded in founder reality, partnered with venture studios and innovation organizations to move technology into company formation, and worked one-on-one with founders and venture leads to convert early signal into repeatable commercial traction. Across these contexts, her focus is the same: navigating complexity, clarifying what matters most, and helping teams move forward when progress stalls.
Through Fat Robin, Seema has guided strategic pivots when early markets proved wrong, rebuilt value propositions against real buyers, and led the design of commercial systems that carried companies from early product–market fit toward revenue. She has supported venture formation across healthcare ecosystems by shaping advisory boards and partner networks, coaching early deals in life science and provider markets, and helping founders prepare for investor conversations where clarity and credibility matter more than polish.
Earlier in her career, Seema held senior business development and innovation roles at Philips, PPD/Thermo Fisher, and McKesson, working across complex stakeholders, business models, and regulated healthcare environments. She currently serves in commercial leadership, board, and advisory roles for early-stage companies and is an active Venture Partner at NextGen VP.
Seema is known for combining strategic clarity with operator-level execution — and for caring deeply about getting meaningful healthcare innovation to market.
